James M. Shinol holds a Masters of Science in East Asian Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College, Boulder Colorado . James is a Diplomat of Acupuncture, a Diplomat of Chinese Herbology, and a Diplomat of East Asian Medicine (including Asian Bodywork Modalities, NCCAOM). Special interests include Internal Medicine, Women's Health, and patient education.

James believes that treating each patient holistically involves extensive questioning, diverse treatment methods, and dedication from both patient and practitioner. Each treatment not only involves acupuncture but an array of other techniques that allow each patient to reach optimal health. The use of East Asian bodywork modalities including Tui Na, Shiatsu and Amma massage are incorporated into each treatment. Examination of each patient's lifestyle (diet, stress, activities) allows for recommendations that can greatly impact the individual and the speed of their recovery.

James is a Board Certified Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist, as well as, a Licensed Acupuncturist in both New York and New Jersey State. He is an educator at several local colleges. He has chosen to open his practice in Huntington, Long Island where he works closely with medical doctors, chiropractors, and other alternative therapies to achieve optimal results.

Health is a large word. It embraces not the body only, but the mind and spirit as well;... and not today's pain or pleasure alone, but the whole being and outlook of a soul. ~James H. West
